The C.D. Fichtenholtz-Waals Research Institute was born from a single video call in May 2026 between two researchers who discovered a shared vision for the future of science.

What began as a conversation quickly evolved into a formal partnership. Mads van der Waals offered a significant grant to support the foundation of the Institute, and together we decided to combine our efforts to build something meaningful and lasting.

We are two co-founders investing our time, resources, and vision into creating an independent research organization dedicated to advancing quantum computing, artificial intelligence, mathematics, symbolic systems, and practical tool-building.

Our focus is not only on discovery, but on making complex ideas usable, interpretable, and teachable. We believe in rigorous craftsmanship, radical teaching, and responsible innovation.
